Visual identity

Like the rest of brand style, our illustrations are clean and simple. Similar to our photography style, they should also feel authentic.

When to use illustration

Illustration should be used sparingly – in places where photography is not appropriate to convey your message. Common places where illustration could be used:

  • Infographics
  • Empty states (when a page has no results, or when something goes wrong)
  • On-boarding (introducing a new feature, or explaining how to use your product)

Do’s and don’ts for using illustration

Simple, flat style

Characters with no outlines with minimal shading

In proportion, realistic looking characters

Colored using DRG’s primary colors and shades

Complex, detailed style

Characters with outlines or in sketch style

Out of proportion, cartoon-like characters

Colored using non-DRG’s primary colors and shades
